Housing Referrals & Admissions

A Safe First Step Toward Stability
Ardella’s House provides transitional reentry housing and support for women returning from incarceration in the Philadelphia area. Our housing program is designed for women who are ready to rebuild their lives in a safe, structured, and supportive community.

We know that coming home is not simple. Women often return facing uncertainty, limited family support, employment barriers, recovery needs, and the pressure of starting over. Ardella’s House helps make that first step more organized, respectful, and hopeful.

Through housing, peer support, workforce connection, recovery-oriented referrals, life skills, and reentry planning, residents receive support as they stabilize, grow, and prepare for long-term independence.
What We Provide:
  • Supportive transitional housing
  • Peer support and community
  • Employment and workforce development support
  • Recovery-oriented support and referrals
  • Familty reunification support
  • Life skills and reentry planning
  • Support toward long-term housing stability
  • A structured phased model that helps residents move from stabilization to independence

Employment & Financial Expectations

Residents are expected to actively pursue employment, education, or approved income-generating activities.
Once income is obtained, residents contribute 30% of their income toward housing, up to $400 per month.

Residents also contribute $100 per month toward shared groceries and household supplies.

These contributions help residents build responsibility, prepare for independent living, and take active ownership of their next chapter.

Community Living Expectations

Ardella’s House is built on respect, accountability, and shared responsibility.

Residents are expected to help maintain a cooperative living environment, care for shared spaces, communicate with staff, and follow house structure, curfew expectations, and program guidelines.

We want every woman who enters Ardella’s House to feel safe, supported, and respected. That means every resident plays a role in protecting the peace, purpose, and stability of the home.

Who It's For
This program is for women returning from incarceration who need safe housing, structure, support, and a community that believes in their ability to rebuild. Applicants should be open to change, willing to participate in the program, and ready to work toward stability, employment, recovery, family connection, and long-term independence.

The program is also appropriate for referral partners seeking a supportive placement for women who can benefit from a structured residential setting after release. Ardella’s House works best for applicants who are ready to engage with staff, respect community living expectations, and take steady steps toward independence.
