Changing Systems, Restoring Dignity
At Ardella’s House, we know that true transformation doesn’t end with reentry — it demands reform. That’s why advocacy is at the heart of everything we do. We don’t just help women navigate broken systems — we work to change those systems, so that justice-impacted women are no longer punished twice: once by incarceration, and again by a society that refuses to see their humanity.
Our advocacy work is rooted in lived experience and led by the voices of formerly incarcerated women. From the courtroom to the Capitol, we fight for policies that restore dignity, protect families, and eliminate the systemic barriers that keep our women in cycles of poverty, punishment, and pain.

What We Fight For:
- Dignity for Incarcerated and Returning Women — including access to healthcare, hygiene products, trauma-informed care, and safe housing
- Fair Reentry Policies — that eliminate harmful barriers to employment, education, and family reunification
- The Right to Parent — advocating for policies that prioritize reunification and end the termination of parental rights due to incarceration
- Economic Justice — including access to public benefits, living wage jobs, and second-chance hiring opportunities
- Decarceration & Sentencing Reform — especially for women serving excessive or unjust sentences due to poverty, addiction, or survival crimes
Our Coalitions and Campaigns:
